Have you ever booked a holiday or relaxing break and counted down the days, anticipating when you arrive? When you're travelling to somewhere exciting, you don't often think of the long journey ahead, but await the destination. Even if you're on a 24 hour plane journey to the other side of the world, you somehow bypass the long journey required to endure. Even if you're met with delays, you know that you will still eventually get to your destination and so find a way to manage it with your mind focused on your end goal.

We are all on different journeys; some are shorter and longer than others. Our end destinations are great and God has promised that we will all reach it in due time. However, we often feel that our journeys are prolonged when we are met with obstacles or get caught up in traffic or congestion.

However, we shouldn't focus on the middle challenges that come in the way neither should we focus on how far we have to go. Don't focus on other people's different journeys neither. We should focus on where we are now, how far we have come and how much progress we have made. We should focus on where God has taken us and where He will direct us towards our joyous paths.

We struggle and find ourselves lost when we want to rely solely on ourselves and not stop to ask for directions.

God is our eternal navigator. Don't be afraid to ask Him for guidance and directions. His advice is simple and straight forward.

Isaiah 30:21 says that whether we are deciding to turn to the left or right, God will be behind us telling us which way to go.

God will also tell us where to go and what to do (Jeremiah 42:3). This is useful if we ever get lost or need extra guidance on which steps to take.

Wherever we're going, God has already prepared and marked the way for us. He is interested in every aspect of our journey and will never lead us astray.

Whatever journey we may have planned or wish to fulfil, God wants us to commit it to Him and trust Him to complete it (Psalm 37:5). When we trust in God's ways, we are safe and secure (Proverbs 29:25). His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22) as each day, they refresh to sustain and keep us.

Don't be discouraged during our journeys; God is with us every step of the way and wherever we go (Joshua 1:9).

Stay focused and determined. If we get tired, God is at hand to provide us with energy, encouragement and motivation to continue pressing on. He's waiting at the finish line. Don't give up!
