God's Word is his way of communicating with us. He speaks to us through his Word to provide us with encouragement, light, comfort and warmth.

God provided his Word to be 'a lamp for our feet and a light on our path' (Psalm 119:105).

He also 'rejoices over us, delights in us and quiets us in his love' (Zepheniah 3:17)

Because he loves us so much and wishes the best for us, he poured out all his love, support and strength into his Word for us to receive.

It is our choice if we want to receive it to gain more wisdom and understanding into the wonders of God.

When we earnestly seek God with all our hearts, we will find him (Jeremiah 29:13-14)

And we can always find God in his Word. We must take the time out, humble ourselves and come to God's Word as honest seekers.

When we are getting to know someone, in order to understand them and what they are about, we have to spend some time with them, communicating with them so we can get to know them personally, which brings us closer to them.

In order to get closer to God, we need to spend more time getting to know his Word. This allow us to get to know God intimately and on a deeper level. As we study God's Word more, we get closer to God and understand Him more, his love, his ways and his works. He also clarifies his purpose for our lives, our place in this world and in his Kingdom.

The more we study God's Word, it also increases our passion for God and everything about him. It keeps us excited, stimulated and fuelled with wider understanding to help us get through our daily lives.

God's word is timeless. It has always provided the answers to everyday situations and whatever we are going through,

We can rely on and refer to God's Word whenever we need answers, strength and encouragement.

It will never run out of solutions. It will never fail us, because God dwells in his Word, and he can never fail us.

God's Words are also everlasting. 'Heaven and earth may pass away, but God's Words will never pass away' (Matthew 24:35).

God will never take them away from us. It's for us to keep and hold on to close to our hearts.

We must also actively believe and trust in God and his Holy Word. What we believe governs how we act, think and behave.

When we believe in God's Word, this belief becomes active and reflects in our hearts and governs our actions and behaviour.

When we centre our lives around God's Word, it dwells in our hearts. Because whatever we prioritise and treasure is where our hearts would be. 'Where our treasure is, there is where our hearts will be' (Matt 6:21). God wants us to treasure his Word, because it is powerful, living and active (Hebrews 4:12). So if we truly treasure it, it will come alive and active in our hearts so we can lead fruitful and meaningful lives.

God's Word is spirit-breathed (1 Timothy 3:16-17). Remember He used his Word to make life. 'God said, "Let there be light," and there was light' (Genesis 1:3). He spoke and breathed life into earth. The same power God used to create light and life, is all in God's Word. So each time we study and meditate on God's Word, it brings light and life into our lives.

God breathed life into his Word for his spirit to dwell in it. When we believe this and get closer to his Word, we receive God's spirit and it comes alive in us. We gain courage and strength to keep going through difficult times, to keep up our faith to persevere. We can be confident to find the answers to everything we need in God's Holy Word. It's so precious!
