The world loves extraordinary people and like to define 'special or VIP.'

In the workforce, people with high status, positions, skills and qualifications are respected.

Celebrities and people with wealth and power are celebrated, talked about and admired because of their social status.

There are even talent shows and competitions that search for the best, extraordinary person by critiquing talents and skills.

God doesn't look at wealth, celebrity or popularity status to determine our worth.

We are God's chosen people (Colossians 3:12). Being loved and called by God is what makes us special. In God, we stand out and are extraordinary. God doesn't have ranks or hierarchies and He doesn't show any favouritism (Romans 2:11).

He has also given us all worthy and unique talents to use for our own special journey and purpose. In Him we are already gifted.

Many people in the bible thought that they were not special or worthy:

- Joseph was mocked by his brothers and outcast to Egypt as a slave. However, He rose to power in Egypt and saved the Israelites from famine (Genesis 41:45).

- Leah was made to believe that she wasn't pretty enough in comparison to her sister, Rachael (Genesis 29:17). However, she helped bear the 12 Tribes of Israel.

- David was mocked for being too small and young, yet he single-handedly defeated a giant when a whole army couldn't (1 Samuel 17:50).

- Esther felt that she had to hide who she was because her race was discriminated against. However, with courage from God, she saved them and restored unity (Esther 4:16).

These people all believed that they were just ordinary, yet God used them for a great purpose and made them extraordinary.

If you feel invisible or feel like no one notices you, God notices you. If people have said that you're not good enough, God says you're more than good enough!

No matter how old you are, what gender you are, what race or nationality you are, what you look like or what skills you hold, God has a plan for your life. God loves you just as you are and He does not want to change anything about you. He wants to use you for greatness and for His glory.

Doing God's will does not require any special qualifications or certificates. All it requires is our very being, whom God made, refined, set apart and appointed before we were born (Jeremiah 1:5).

Let God shape and define our purpose and future. With Him, we are extraordinary!
