The Jews seek a sign and they would always seek one till our Lord Jesus Christ comes back again. Such is their portion so that is not my bone of contention in this article

The Greeks [unbelievers, heathens], seek knowledge and this will always be until they turn to the Lord Jesus Christ who is the truth and the only source of knowledge. But as it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:4 , The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. So again, this article is not about them for such will be their plight till they believe.

My bone of contention and the main reason of this article is because of Christians [well the current generation of the body of Christ to be honest].

The Pentecostals seek prosperity in such a profound way it’s unreal. Before I tuck in, it’s imperative for me to quickly point out that it is not wrong for Christians to prosper, or for them to believe God to prosper them. The Word of God says in 3 John 1:2, Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. The Bible is filled with stories of men that God prospered mightily, men like Job, Abraham, Isaac etc. These men even became the envy of wealthy unbelievers because their wealth far surpassed theirs.

I do not have a problem with prosperity, I LOVE IT. What I have a problem with is Christians distorting the Word of God and seeking prosperity above all things, above Christ and His kingdom. Did God not say SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE ADDED UNTO YOU? We think we can mock God and His ways and that He will eagerly prosper us. This is nothing but a sour joke! Galatians 6:7 says do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. We seldom hear about holiness and the corresponding consequences of sin anymore in our pulpits or Christian channels all we hear is “GIVE AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU”! Many of the current leaders/shepherds are going down this path. Even so, I do not put all the blame on the leaders, even though if they had faithfully preached the undiluted Word of God, many will have turned from thinking its okay to live a life of sin and expect God to prosper you as long as you give. This is nothing short of deception, and I will be quick to also point out that if your thinking doesn’t line up with the word of God then you walk in deception because His word is the TRUTH. JOHN 17:17.

I blame Christians, full stop! I blame us. Friends, God said something in His word that has always ministered deeply to me. Jeremiah 5:30-31 says a horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy lies, the priests [or pastors] rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end? If all over the TV all you hear is prosperity messages, you as a child of God can you not pick up your own bible and search for the truth? Must you swallow what they feed you? The problem is us; we love what we are hearing. We love to have it so. We love what appeals to our flesh and soulish desires. We love easy life. We love anything that pampers our flesh. But can you see God’s question....it’s too deep! He says BUT WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THE END? When it’s all over and what you vehemently held on to be the truth as been proved to be a lie, and when you stand before Him on the judgement day, what will be your excuses o man! It has been written and prophesied way before hand by apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:1-2 that: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy. Again in 2 Timothy 4:3, for the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

There is a way that seemeth right to man but the end thereof is and will always be destruction. God expressly said to Joshua after the death of Moses in Joshua 1:8, Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. He said again in Isaiah 1:19, if you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land. We can see that prosperity follows closely on the heels of obedience to God’s word! There is no point in doing otherwise, it’s a weariness of the soul, we need to wake up and stop trying to think of God or using God as an investment bank. Personally I have always said if it is possible for Christians to travel up to heaven literally and arrest God and put Him in a room and just lock the door and feed Him prayer requests all day long they will! God died and rose again for us that we might know Him intimately and fellowship with Him and love Him as He loves us. All the things we seek are ours already, HE ONLY REQUIRES THAT WE LOVE HIM ABOVE ALL THINGS! IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK? APPARENTLY SO, BY THE WAY WE ACT AND BEHAVE!

Friends the end of all things are nearly upon us, the night is far spent, let us arise from our sins and seek God, love Him and worship Him for who He is and not for what He will give us.
